About The Orbit & Eye Movement Institute

The Orbit & Eye Movement Institute at the Vision Center Childrens Hospital Los Angeles offers a comprehensive program of treatment and research into strabismus, a visual disorder in which one eye cannot focus with the other on an object because of imbalance of the eye muscles. As a result, the brain cannot use the information from the two eyes together normally. A common condition among children, strabismus can result in amblyopia or loss of vision in one eye.

Our Strabismus Program treats both children and adults with strabismus and amblyopia, also commonly called “lazy eye.” Early intervention is critical and typically effective. We specialize in addressing ocular misalignment with computer-assisted orthoptics or eye exercises and comprehensive rehabilitation after surgery.
