Nasolacrimal Duct Obstruction

Congenital Nasolacrimal Duct (NLD) Obstruction is a fairly common condition in which the tear drainage from the eye into the nose – the nasolacrimal duct – is closed off. When a blockage occurs in the NLD, tears build up on the surface of the eye, preventing bacteria or debris from clearing. This may cause infections or discharge.
