For Healthcare Provider

The Vision Development Institute at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles is active in the study of conditions that disrupt early vision development, including strabismus (misaligned eyes), anisometropia (asymmetries of focusing between the two eyes), and disorders such as hyperopia (farsightedness) which frequently lead to strabismus. Early detection and intervention is key to preserving and restoring normal binocular development. Through our research on early glasses correction for hyperopia and assessment of focusing behavior in infants and toddlers, we are proactive in the efforts to improve visual outcomes in children at risk of lifelong visual impairment from childhood vision disorders.

In addition to our advanced treatment options, we provide a family-centered, child-friendly approach and a full range of support services for patient families. You will enjoy full confidence in referring your patients to us.
